Strong and secure - what more could you want?
Older conservatories have very outdated materials and fail to offer the standard of thermal efficiency that modern materials can provide. The knock-on effect of this is that many conservatory owners get very little use out of their extensions and have no other option but to leave their living space empty for extended periods.
Our solution to this common problem has been to develop a roofing system that can take the place of ageing roofs and be fitted in no time to quickly restore thermal efficiency inside. In many instances, the existing conservatory framework can be retained, with the replacement roof sitting on top of it – this is referred to as a “top hat”.
The benefits of a solid tiled roof from Premier are almost endless…
You don’t buy a conservatory for infrequent use and expect it to adjust to the outdoor climate so that come winter and summer it doesn’t feel too cold or too hot. To be assured of all of this, what you really need is a conservatory with a solid tiled roof. The system contains insulated plywood and a rigid insulation board, which is why it excels at eliminating heat loss and enhancing energy efficiency.
Get a conservatory with solidity…
There will be a more luxurious feel to the inside of your conservatory once it has been upgraded with the installation of a solid roof in exchange for a polycarbonate or glass roof. It can cause a slight loss of natural light, but not enough to put you off buying one as you will still get plenty of light coming in through your windows and doors. Premier Windows has created slates and tiles for the lightweight roof that are an almost exact match of traditional slates and tiles so that it has an authentic look.
Tiled roof conservatory features
A Premier Windows designer will listen carefully as you inform them of how you envisage your tiled roof conservatory looking and working.
You’re not obliged to, but if you are able to, please take some photographs and measurements prior to your first design appointment so that your advisor can understand what the project will involve.

Premier has a carefully selected range of finishing touches for our tiled roof conservatories, including various attractive colours and rugged tile options.
Choose between two tile types
Our lightweight tiles for conservatories and orangeries weigh a fraction of the weight of traditional roofing tiles and need far less upkeep too.
Particularly suited to designs with a low-pitched roof, our lightweight slates are the perfect alternative to traditional slates and have a more enduring appearance.
Tiles that look good and perform outstandingly...
Your new solid roof should look at ease with the rest of the home but will only do so if you choose a complementary finish. Premier has a selection of roof tile colours that are purposely designed to match the conventional colours you regularly see on the roofs of houses throughout the country.
The quality of a fade-resistant powder-coated aluminium finish is what makes it stand out…
Experience has shown us that the best way to create an aluminium finish is to do it in 11 stages and with a powder-coating process. The strong paint adhesions induced when we do it are what make the colour so rich.
Aluminium woodgrain finishes are produced rather more differently and require a method called sublimation. Our woodgrains of Walnut, Oak and Rosewood are a believable imitation of real woodgrains.
Expertly crafted window handles…
So much time and effort goes into the crafting of our traditional and contemporary-styled handles and we hope you get as much pleasure out of using them as our craftspeople did out of making them.
The secure locking system that’s built into each of the handles is how they’re kept secure.

Choose a timber or plasterboard internal finish…
A painted plasterboard finish promises to give you a replacement tiled roof with a clean and minimalist look and is well admired amongst homeowners. However, other options are available, such as a timber clad ceiling if you want a dark finish that comes into its own in winter. It creates what is best described as a ‘cabin-style’ feel and will brilliantly complement any roof windows or centre pivot timber roof windows that are present within the system.
